A Backyard To Grow Up In For Westwood’s Young Learners
Supporting Westwood families since 1997, Barn Yard provides more than child care—it’s a welcoming early learning environment where children grow through play and discovery.
More than a Daycare
Play Based Early Childhood Education For Growing Young Minds
At Barn Yard, we believe every child is a unique individual shaped by their personality, learning style, and family experiences. Children thrive when they feel confident, valued, and supported, which is why we create a nurturing environment where they feel safe to explore, take risks, and discover the world around them. Through play based learning and thoughtful guidance, our educators help children build confidence, independence, and a joyful love of learning.
Our child centered approach supports the whole child across social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Through a child initiated, emergent curriculum for children ages three months to five years, learning experiences are inspired by curiosity, creativity, and exploration. Families are valued partners in this journey. Together we create a safe, welcoming environment where children grow, move, play, and develop strong foundations for school and life.

Partnering With Families To Support Every Child’s Growth
We believe families are essential partners in every child’s early learning journey. Parents are a child’s first and most important teachers, and we build respectful, trusting relationships between families and educators to support each child’s growth. By working together and providing consistent, caring guidance, we help children develop a strong sense of security, confidence, and belonging.

Our services
Educational Programs by Age
Infant Care & Development
The earliest months of life require specialized attention and a calm, responsive environment. Our Chick Room provides a nurturing space that prioritizes secure attachment and early sensory development. Educators support physical well-being and motor development through gentle, intentional interactions. Consistent routines for feeding, resting, and evolving playtime help infants feel safe, supported, and ready to begin their journey of exploration and early learning.
Toddler Programs
Toddlers are active explorers who are beginning to assert their independence. Our Toddler Programs channel that energy into constructive learning through guided play and early discovery. Children are introduced to early literacy, language development, and foundational social skills like turn-taking and emotional regulation. Activities encourage critical thinking and problem-solving in a safe, engaging environment as toddlers grow from dependent infants into capable young learners.
Preschool
Our Preschool program provides a focused curriculum designed to support kindergarten readiness. Children engage in hands-on discovery across key learning areas while developing social-emotional and early academic skills. Through a play-based approach, daily activities encourage independence, teamwork, and the ability to follow directions in preparation for elementary school. This stage helps young learners build confidence, curiosity, and a lasting love of learning.
